Automation Technology - Motor
For motor technology, please refer to the official websites of Siemens, Panasonic and other companies.
Motors can be found everywhere in automated production lines, such as frequency conversion motors that can adjust the speed for conveyors, servo motors with encoders for manipulators, etc.
Motor selection mainly involves power, torque and moment of inertia.
According to the law of conservation of energy, the power of the motor = the power of the load, and the power that makes the load move can be directly calculated.
For example, belt conveyor, known to have a single workpiece weight (m) 10kg, belt conveyor can place 10 workpieces, belt speed (V) 1m/s, friction coefficient μ=0.2, then the friction force of a single workpiece f=μmg=0.2×10×9.8=19.6N, the total friction of 10 workpieces F=10×f=10×19.6=196N, the total load power P=FV=196×1=196W, the safety factor is 2, Then the motor power can be selected 400W.
